My wife petitioned for my adjustment of visa status in USA while I was in F1 status. In this story, I will share our whole application tracking chronologically along with I-485 interview experience.

Application Timeline

11/22/2019 — Sent application of I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-765, I-131 to USCIS

(3 days later)

11/25/2019 Application arrived at Chicago post office box. (USPS tracking last message — Your item arrived at the Post Office at 11:51 pm on November 23, 2019 in CHICAGO, IL 60680.)

(8 days later)

12/03/2019 Got four SMSs from USCIS to reflect the fact that My cases were received.

(3 days later)

12/06/2019 Notice sent for Biometrimetrics appointment. Application type I-485 and I-765. Received appointment letter on 12/12/2019 if I remember correctly.

(18 days later)

12/24/2019 Biometric appointment was supposed to be on this date. But Application support center (ASC) was closed on that day due to sudden executive order of federal vacation on Christmas eve. I figured it out after going to ASC. No prompt notice was sent to our email or phone. Later, we got another notice regarding rescheduling of Biometric.

1/29/2020 Biometric done on this date (photo, fingerprint, signature)
